Brandon Carr is a regular Santa Claus.
This Baltimore Ravens cornerback did more than just play football this Christmas season. Brandon Carr, Flint native, provided Christmas dinners for 150 Flint families on December 18, 2017. United Way of Genesee County partnered with his organization, Carr Cares Foundation, to provide this service. Volunteers and staff from the RL Jones Community Outreach Center at Greater Holy Temple helped hand-delivered the meals on the city’s north side. Each meal was contained inside one box.
The citizens of Flint have bigger things to worry about than Christmas dinner and Brandon Carr was happy to help.
“Christmas is a special time of year,” said Carr. “It’s a time for families to spend together without thinking of the burdens of everyday life. I hope this meal provides families the opportunity to relax and enjoy the holiday season.”
But this isn’t the first time Brandon Carr has helped out Genessee County. His organization has supported Flint from its beginning. Besides bringing attention to the Flint Water Crisis, his organization has also opened three reading centers at area Title 1 schools and conducted Play 60 sessions at Dye Elementary, just in the last two years.
This is an NFL video of Brandon Carr’s visit to Flint in 2016, where he aimed to bring attention to the Flint Water Crisis.

This former Dallas Cowboy played at Grand Valley State through college. He was then drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft before moving on to Dallas and finally Baltimore. We hope Brandon Carr comes home again next year!
