Beer lovers, rejoice! Founders Brewing Company is coming to Detroit!
A Grand Rapids favorite, we are so excited that one of the best breweries in Michigan is coming to Detroit. The famous creators of KBS, All Day IPA, and the Centennial IPA are opening a second location on Monday, December 4, 2017, 3 p.m. to 12 a.m. Yep, they’ve outgrown west Michigan.
Founders is celebrating their grand opening celebration with a new beer release, details below. The new location is 456 Charlotte St Detroit, MI, 48201.
Founders is debuting their new beer, “CBS” (Canadian Breakfast Stout), which is a play off of their KBS (Kentucky Breakfast Stout) that is know for being in such high demand and limited release that stores have to ration customers to one or two cases each. They hardly last more than a week in stores. Considering that a four-pack can run you about $30 after deposit and tax, that is saying something. But when you taste the sweet, but balanced coffee and bourbon flavors, you can understand the hype.
The CBS is just a bit different. Founders describe their new beer as, “Rich maple syrup, roasted coffee and velvety chocolate meld together in what can only be described as a transcendental drinking experience.” Transcendental? I’m in! They allegedly “stumbled upon” the recipe when the brewers came across some bourbon barrels that also contained maple syrup when brewing their KBS. If it tastes anything like their KBS, it has to be good.
With the release and the grand opening, tickets are going to be widely coveted. You can get a ticket ($50 admission includes two bottles of CBS) here. Their press release should have any more information you may need about the event, as well as how you can start a “mug club” membership with Founders. The cool thing about the second location is that your membership works at both breweries! Just don’t drive back and forth…
Drink responsibly! It’s gonna be packed, so stay safe! Don’t forget to like them on Facebook to keep updated!
